Love in Silence
by Jill Christianae on Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at 9:48am
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Many people think that Love has to always manifest itself in proactive ways. When one person cries, the other automatically feels urged to sit by him/her and offer some sort of comfort either by offering tissue, by giving a hug or by saying nice words.
But sometimes, the best way to show love is to allow people to grieve alone for a time, to absent ourselves from their lives even in the midst of their pain. It is rooted in believing that theirs is the voice they should listen to first and then the voice of God and then if necessary, ours’.
Most of the time, what we tell people is something they already know and most of the time, God has something else to say. Most of the time, the root of the pain is left ignored, not because no one has spoken, but because many have.
